A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to non-existent email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited emails, but this problem can be rectified by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux web hosting with our company and you wish to activate the catch-all feature for a given email mailbox that you’ve got in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally just one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

You will be able to configure a catch-all address with no more than one click if you have a semi-dedicated hosting with our company and your emails are handled by our cloud web hosting platform. All the mailboxes that you set up with any domain name hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to enable this option will be to click on that icon. In the same fashion you’ll be able to disable the feature, if you no longer need it. Our system will inform you in case you’re trying to activate a second catch-all address for a specific domain or in case there is active email forwarding, but it’ll never change or deactivate any feature automatically and without your permission.
